Same story guys,,,,,,, SKYWAY EQUALS QUALITY SHEEPSHEAD!!! High winds making Clearwater area hard to produce. Finding spots with wind protection and structure are key. No reds this week, but several trout in the 14in-18in range
Stuck inshore all week due to high winds and cold fronts. Skyway trips this week are still producing at the bridges and rocky bottom there. Largest Sheepshead being 16 inches. Inshore in Clearwater area still producing some speckled trout with some smaller red fish. A few keeper Sheepshead off the docks with largest being 14 inches.
Fishing the Skyway has been productive for Sheepshead on fiddlers and shrimp. Deeper water with more structure allowing for more fish. The extra benefit is more areas to allow us to get out of the wind. Strong winds with colder water temps has made fishing hard in Clearwater waters for “meat fish”. One trip had us tucked into the mangroves…

Week ended strong despite some very windy conditions. Several 20″ Trout were landed in addition to some nice Sheepshead. Several Redfish in the 14″ range were also landed. Several trips made this pass week, despite windy conditions and a cold front. Inshore bridges are producing, lots of snappers with some keeper mangroves snappers. Spanish Macks are out and and about and as usual lots of fun. Flats produced several trout that were safely released. While fishing the Mangrove Islands a 20 inch trout was lost at the boat…
